At least, that's what I heard when I moved from London, to Leicester. And it's probably what you'll hear as well, if you're about to up-stick. So kick back, relax, and let me tell you some stuff you WON'T find on Wikipedia. Note to new students: Wikipedia is NOT a primary source. You cannot reference this in your coursework, BUT you can reference the sources IN Wikipedia wink wink!!

Firstly, there's some great places to eat! From Turkish, Indian, American, and everything in between, you'll be pleased to know you'll never go hungry. For starters (see what I did there!!), there's Istanbul, a great Turkish restaurant that's well established in the city with some great food. Try the Yoghurtlu dishes, that have succulent meat, soft pieces of bread with creamy yoghurt.

I'm a HUGE dessert fan! And if you are too, you NEED to try Heavenly Desserts. Their waffles are on point. And the menu is extensive, covering all types of luxury cravings, from crepes to milkshakes. And if you're a student, grab a Halal Honours Card! You'll receive some excellent discount (had to plug this in, obviously)!

And something I did recently... Escape HQ! For a night of fun and mystery, check out Escape HQ. It's an escape room (these involve being locked in a room with a bunch of mates and clues, with the ultimate aim to figure out how to escape or solve a puzzle) that has various scenarios. We tried the Vault, and although we failed to complete the challenge, it was loads of fun. Just remember, ask your mates to wear deodorant before you go. There's nothing worse than being a locked in a room with smelly, sweaty people!

HAVE YOU BOUGHT YOUR HALAL HONOURS CARD YET? We've just launched, and we're giving vouchers to the first 100 members. Plus, for a limited time only, it's just £9.99 for 12 months of discounts at the BIGGEST AND BEST places for students to hang out.
