The Destruction of Sacred Sites

It's so sad to see religious and cultural sights being affected by the horrendous floods in Indonesia.
I used to work for a small think tank based in London, and one of the things that I personally was working on was the protection of sacred sights around the world in times of war and conflict.
Its therefore absolutely tear shedding for me personally, to see images like these below:

Sacred sights are supposed to be places to seek comfort, peace, inner reflection and security. To see these floods indiscriminately hit everything in their way, makes my heart sink. For so many people, seeing these beautiful buildings once the place for them to seek proximity to their Lord, is hard.
We're doing our bit by raising awareness of the situation in Indonesia.
If you haven't already, head on over to Islamic Relief's website to make a donation, or buy your HHC card and we'll donate £1 to the charity's campaign to help the people of Indonesia rebuild their sacred sacred sites.
