As a student, you realise you don't actually have much money (cry). You have to make sure every meal you decide to fork out on is actually worth the calories and the limited dollar you have left from that student loan, so I’ve come up with three top tips to follow when dining out!
1. Compare the cookie.com I for one am probably not the most adventurous type and stick to what's safe, but on the odd occasion I may just venture out to a NEW dessert place and test out how good they are. What's the best way to test a dessert? EAT THEIR COOKIE DOUGH!

The complexity of cookie dough is fascinating. How can a bit of flour, eggs, milk, and chocolate chips taste so different at so many different places? Okay so maybe I just have a teeny weeny, odd obsession with under cooked sludge but comparing one food item across the selection of glorious eateries, is a great cheap way of placing your bets on how good the rest of the menu is.
2. A picture tells a 1000 words
You and your mates have decided you're eating out tonight but they ask YOU to choose where to go? PRESSURE!
No fear..jump on Instagram/Facebook and eat with your eyes! Nobody wants to eat something that doesn't look good. Tons of restaurants and dessert places have social media accounts for this very reason - making sure our stalking needs are met. What's also worth noting is the 'Photos of you' section you get on Instagram and Facebook giving you those all important non-airbrushed iPhone/Samsung (depending on what tribe you belong to) pics, that may just help decide on whether you're going for steak or a curry. So when you got a few minutes in your lecture...I mean in BETWEEN your lectures have a scroll ;).

3. Sharing is Caring Lastly, you can be sure to get a few nibbles of everything by going out with friends and convincing them to all get different dishes. You get to all indulge on the entire menu for so much less! The bigger the group of friends the bigger the selection of food (you may even get their left overs if you’re lucky!) This way, next time round you’ll know EXACTLY what to get..just be sure nobody else pinches those mouth-watering, cheesy, tantalising, lush nachos.

Okay fine, I have a cookie and a cheese problem!
So next time you’re figuring out where to go after those six hours *cough* half an hour in the library, remember these tips to ensure a great night out without getting fat and broke.
